EmpowerHER Mentoring

The DICA EmpowerHer Mentorship & STEAM program, in collaboration with community partners, aims to support girls and help them become the best versions of themselves through group and individual sessions, college prep support, and more. Students get together once or twice a month to take part in fun experiences, organize charitable activities, and enjoy workshops, retreats, and field trips to local museums and businesses. At the end of the year, mentorship students and their mother figures join in a special crowning ceremony. It's all about learning and growing together!

The DICA Tiny Tots class is a fun and exciting dance class that uses non-traditional, innovative, and creative methods to engage young dancers as early as 3 years old. The 45-minute class is held once a week and is structured to teach Tiny Tots the fundamentals of Contemporary Ballet, Hip Hop, and the Majorette style of dance. Students in this class will perform at the mid-year and end-of-year recital showcases.

SPECIALITY TEAMS

At DICA, we are proud to introduce the Divine Majorettes Performance & Elite Competition Teams, which are the top-notch dance teams at our school. Our talented dancers have made appearances on the news, won numerous awards, and showcased their skills on various stages in the PWC and surrounding areas!

So, what is the performance team all about?

Well, it's open to students aged 7 to 17, regardless of their skill levels, and there's no audition requirement. Elite Competition Team members are a part of the team!

This team is the star of the show, representing DICA in both local and national performances. Members of the DICA performance team along with the Elite Competition Team dancers will practice at least once a week, with extra practice sessions to gear up for performances. While dancers on the majorette performance team won't take part in competitions, they may get the chance to audition for a spot on the Elite Competition Team.

This team is fantastic for families who want their dancers to travel and perform without the demanding schedule of the competition team. It's all about having fun and sharing the joy of dance!

Divine Majorette Elite Competition Team

Divine Majorettes Elite Competition Team is the top Majorette Competition Team in the DMV area. Our team is known for our style, grace, and creativity, and we've won numerous awards. We're recognized in the majorette community as the team to beat in the Creative category.

Auditions are held in September, November, January, and April, and the competition team requires rigorous training hours and financial commitments for uniforms, performance fees, and travel costs.

Practices are held a min. of twice of week with alternating Saturdays. Practice hours will increase significantly during competition season (Jan-May 2025)

Here are the basic audition requirements:
